COM2019per chap:bolton hill hist/arch pres district approved as per chap atp: in order to address significant structural damage to the façade, deconstruct the brick façade, from the top of the basement windows to the cornice, leaving the first floor door surround and doors, cornice, and basement windows in place. temporarily remove the handrails to the basement and the decorative security grills on the first floor windows; reinstall after work is completed. the bricks and stone window sills will be saved and reused for the reconstruction. the first floor stone sills will be cleaned. install temporary wood security wall and boarded window openings. reconstruct the façade to match existing in appearance and detail. replacement mortar will match the historic mortar in composition, hardness, texture, profile, and color. the applicant will complete a 2’ x 2’ sample portion of reconstructed and repointed wall for chap review and approval. remove the eight wracked wood windows and replace with two custom 1/1 double-hung wood windows on the first floor and six jeld-wen siteline 1/1 double-hung wood windows. all windows will have a baltimore bullnose trim, and feature paintable jambliner covers. install new wood window sills in the second and third floor openings. on door surround, repair trim that is deteriorated beyond repair using appropriate wood epoxies, or where deteriorated beyond repair, by replacing in-kind to match existing in detail and material. install copper flashing/roof on top of door surround. scrape cornice, door surround, and front doors. paint cornice, windows, window frames, door surround with benjamin moore #oc-63 winter snow. paint wooden window sills benjamin moore # 2137-40 desert twilight. applicant to submit color for front doors to chap staff. all work to be completed as per plans in chap files remove existing front wall from the cornice down to the top of the basement window/door. leaving the existing front door, basement door, basement window in place. we will take the existing brick clean it and re-install it with new mortar to match the original. the windows will be replaced. after completing the brick work, the cornice, windows, and doors will be painted. all work will be done under chap's guidelines and with their inspections. all work will be done according to baltimore city code and per submitted drawings.$60,000Apr 11, 2019
