GIVEN THE AGE OF THE EXISTING STORMWATER SYSTEM AND DIFFICULTY IN COMPLETING REPAIRS TO UNDERGROUND FACILITIES LOCATED BENEATH BUILDINGS, IOV IS PROPOSING TO INSTALL NEW STORMWATER PIPES WHICH WILL DIRECT STORMWATER TO THE EAST OF THE SITE AND CONNECT TO EXISTING INFRASTRUCTURE WHICH HAS BEEN RECENTLY INSTALLED (APPROXIMATELY 5 TO 10 YEARS AGO) AND IS LOCATED IN PAVED AREAS, NOT BENEATH BUILDINGS, MAKING POTENTIAL FUTURE REPAIRS EASIER TO COMPLETE. THE PROPOSED CONNECTION POINT ALSO OUTLETS TO THE BALTIMORE CITY STORM SEWER SYSTEM IN EAST BIDDLE STREET. THE PROPOSED STORMWATER IMPROVEMENTS WILL NOT INCREASE THE STORMWATER FLOW OR ALTER THE CONNECTION POINT TO THE CITY SYSTEM, ONLY CHANGE THE PATH OF THE FLOW TO THE BALTIMORE CITY SYSTEM. THE ENTIRE AREA OF THE PROPOSED IMPROVEMENTS IS COVERED BY ASPHALT PAVEMENT. IN ADDITION TO THE STORMWATER PIPE INSTALLATION, WHICH WILL REQUIRE REPAVING OF DISTURBED AREAS WITH BINDER AND WEARING COURSES, ****** SCOPE OF WORK: ------- GRADING ------STORMWATER AND PAVING ------- PAVING IMPROVEMENTS. IOV IS PROPOSING TO MILL TWO INCHES FROM THE REMAINING ASPHALT AREA AND PLACE NEW WEARING COURSE OVER THE ENTIRE SITE TO REMEDY DETERIORATION OF THE EXISTING ASPHALT SURFACE. AS PER CODE.
